Halloween Costume Ideas for Pixie Cuts

Halloween Costumes have are no longer the traditional ghoulish, zombies, witches and pumpkins, with pop culture references and characters becoming modern favourites. Halloween Costumes and Makeup are a favourite of mine, I love that everyone gets a creative (whether a little or a lot) and transforms themselves into something magical, fantastical and/or fictional. 

This year I was a little stumped when finding inspiration for a Halloween Costume that would suit a Pixie Hair Cut. Could I wear a wig? Sure, of course, I could, but they are itchy, can be expensive and hard to maintain, besides I paid good money for my haircut and don't want to cover it up. So I put my thinking cap on and came up with a few Ideas for a Pixie Cut Halloween Outfits:

Rizzo from Grease

You could also go as Frenchie depending on the style (and colour) of your hair. For this Rizzo look, I took Inspiration from both Stockard Channing and Vanessa Hudgens Rizzo. Outfit: A Black Shirt, with rolled sleeves, Black pencil skirt, Black Pointed Toe Court Heels and a Red Bandana Neck Scarf. Makeup: Simple base, foundation, bronzer and highlight, mascara, a little-winged eye-liner and bright red lips.

Eleven from Stranger Things

Eleven is a brilliant costume idea for anyone with a buzz cut to a long pixie. Stranger Things Eleven costume can be done by pairing a pink smock dress with a blue bomber jacket, and adding long white socks and white canvas shoes. I went for Stranger Things 2 Eleven, Outfit: Black Jumper/top under a black blazer, high waisted mom jeans, white socks and white sneakers. The makeup for eleven is really simple to do, Makeup: simple base, foundation and highlight, Mascara, Black eyeshadow and for the bloody nose I used bright and dark red liquid lipsticks but you can use fake blood too.

Barb from Stranger Things

#JusticeforBarb Sticking with the Stranger Things theme, (I am a Stanger fan, not sure if you can tell) Barb is a fandom favourite and a brilliant Halloween Costume Idea. Barb Stranger Things Outfit: Check shirt with ruffles and high collar, high waisted mom jeans, brown ankle boots, I also added accessories that Barb would wear vintage-style watch, large round glasses, and a couple of textbooks. Barb's makeup is another simple makeup look, Makeup: simple base, light foundation, little eyeliner (wasn't planned but was shooting different outfit and makeup look and didn't remember to take it off) mascara, pinky/nude lip, and eyeliner freckles.

Amélie Poulain from Amélie

Who doesn't know this French cinematic classic? (If you don't I'd highly suggest watching it, now, go on, go watch it) Amelie's wardrobe has a red and green colour pallet, so as long as you have those colours in your wardrobe it's easy to replicate. Outfit: Red top, Red Duster Coat, Green Midi Pleat Skirt and black boots. The simplest of the makeup looks Makeup: simple base, foundation, a little blush, mascara, eyeliner and clear lip balm. You could aslo add accesories, photobooth pictures, a teaspoon or a gnome, but that's up to you.

Rosie The Riveter 
Propaganda poster girl Rosie the Riveter is a classic costume and is often recreated for fancy dress. Rosie's Outfit in the posters is usually blue overalls and a red bandana, you can easily recreate that outfit with the dungarees and overalls currently on sale in high street stores. Outfit: blue shirt, blue high waisted mom jeans, red bandana. Makeup: simple base, foundation, bronze, black eyeliner, mascara, and bright red lips.
