Fashion Month Favourite
Bonjour and Hello to you Stylish Reader,
How have you been? Hope you're well.
September has been a bit of an odd one for me and with a broken toe and aggressive migraines, I've had to cope with the illness as best I can.
One of my favourite things to do whilst ill is to watch Sci-fi and Fashion shows.
Luckily for me, September is also known as Fashion Month; when the Fashion Shows presenting next season style take place in New York, London, Paris and Milan. So today I thought I'd share with you my favourite show within Fashion Month.
The Moncler Gamme Rouge SS/18: upon first glance at the decor of the runway appeared -dare I say it- a little tacky. The array of disco balls -presented in Paris, at the Grand Palais, on Tuesday- didn't match in with the usual Moncler esthetic and I must admit I was a bit confused, that was until the event started and everything elegantly settled into place.
The Event opened and closed with a performance by HIPLET (pronounced hip-lay); a group of dancers that fuses classical pointe Ballet with Hip-hop and urban styles. The dancers weaved through the disco balls with ease, grace, and a little edge, and were a treat to any who watched the show, enthralling onlookers into the story behind the collection.
The dancers were the perfect touch to the SS/18 collection and made the event a show.
In my personal opinion the collection designed by designed by Giambattista Valli; encompassed a dancers' dream wardrobe, which is ready to wear, straight off the catwalk. Moncler indicated their Gamme Rouge Spring Collection was in fact inspired by styles of contemporary dance. A seamless story of a working ballerina on and off duty was represented in 45 looks, not only by the perfect buns and ballet slippers but also the appropriate array of tulle, fleece, organza, taffeta and macramé embroidery, represented in a colour palette of traditional Ballet nudes to a more patriotic Bleu, Blanc, Rouge.
Take a look at of my top 8 looks from the show, (all of which I would love to wear!!) and/or Watch The Show and let me know if you agree and what your favourite looks are.
Thanks for Reading
