The Holiday Armadillo | Blogmas 2017
Today is the 12th December 2017, for some, it's just another day in December but for others, it's a very important day. Today, or rather this evening, the celebration of Hanukkah begins. This Jewish holiday is celebrated on a different date every year, always between late November and December, four Days before the new moon.
My friend (who celebrates Hanukka) has informed me that this holiday is celebrated over 9 Days and on each day a candle is lit on the 'Hanukkiah' (also known as a 'Menorah', a special nine-branched candle holder). The celebrations include large family meals and lots of food fried in oil, playing games and giving gifts to the children and spin the dreidel.
I would like to wish my friend, her family and indeed any of my Jewish Readers a Happy Hannuka.
To all my other readers and any Friend's™ fans out there I'd like to remind of this little gem, 'The Holiday Armadillo':
