Try Something New #3

Hey Chums,

Just to refresh your memory, every month I am trying, eating and drinking something new, to help me complete one of my 'New Years Resolutions'. I've been stepping out of my foodie comfort zone and trying some creative activities. When I say 'New'I simply mean that I've never done/tried it before.

March is one of my favourite months and this is one of my favourite 'Try Something New' edition blog posts. This month I decided to tackle my style rut and attend the 10-day style awakening challenge, I lock my lips around a glass of carrot juice and finally get to taste a vegan katsu curry.

Carrot Juice
I kid you not when I say that carrot juice tastes like tomatoes... Carrots and Tomatoes are completely different but when I sip my jus au carotte, I feel as though I'm eating a tomato. How is this possible? I'm afraid I cannot tell you. It' not the taste I was expecting, nor a taste I'm particularly fond of either. If you love carrots (or tomatoes) this juice might be for you. Carrot juice on its own is not my thing, it does get nicer the more you drink it, but it's not something I'll opt for again. I can imagine this could taste really nice added to another citrus or tropical flavoured juice. eg. pineapple juice or orange juice. Carrot Mocktails anyone?? (I bought this bottle from Tesco for £1.50) Rating 2.5/5

Vegan Katsu Curry
It's true, I've never had a Katsu curry before the month of March 2018. Don't judge I've just always opted for something else. This month I decided to opt for the Vegan Katsu Curry from Wagamama (yes the pic above is taken from the Wagamama website because I didn't think ahead and take a pic of the one I ate, I know, silly me). I love this dish, I'm a fan of Wagas and a fan of curries, sticky rice is also my favourite so I couldn't really go wrong with this. It's a mild curry with lots of flavour, I'd highly recommend the vegan rather than a meat option, you'll get sweet potato, aubergine, and butternut squash in crispy panko breadcrumbs which adds a little more flavour and compliments the aromatic curry sauce. 10 Day Style Awakening Challenge
One of the best days in March was the Day I started Lauren Messiah's (Personal Stylist, LA) 10 Day Style Awakening Challenge. I like many others have been stuck in a style rut for a little while now. I'm finally out of my wanting to wear everything baggy and dark colours phase, but I need help. My body shape has changed, I'm finally at a weight where I feel comfortable but have no idea how to dress myself, my sense of style has simply gone out the window. Lauren's 10-day course made me look deeper into why I couldn't style or even dress myself, what my inspirations were and how I shop. Seems simple and probably just like common sense to most people, but Lauren made us go even further and I found the whole experience eye-opening. I have never done a styling course or self-help course before, but I really enjoyed this, found it extremely helpful and am taking the right steps towards my best style. Rating:5/5

Have you tried anything new this month that has taken you out of your comfort zone? Why not try something new for next month? If you have a hobby or food/drink you love, let me know and I'll see if I can try it too!

Thanks for reading
