April Favourites
Lauren Messiah
Rating 5/5
Forget the hostess with the mostess, meet the stylist ready to assist. It's not often that top personal stylists offer their advice, tips, and processes free of charge. Lauren Messiah is not like most stylists, her youtube channel is always full of styling advice and tips for personal situations, and those aiming to climb the styling career ladder. She co-founded the New-York School of styling and is a female Boss, Business owner and much more, with a fabulous dress sense. Lauren had recently gone through a Style Awakening and invited anyone who was in need of an awakening to sign up for her free ten-day course. I immediately signed up, not just because I'm a fan of Lauren and her work but because I was in a style rut and in need of an awakening! Lauren provided the resources and the social media group for us to post our answers to the daily task. The social media group and challenge had around 1000 women all ready to take part and support each other. I was so overwhelmed by the generosity, kindness and support women were offering, I'm so grateful for every piece of advice that Lauren has given us all. If you want to know more I've got a blog post all about my experience during the 10-day style awakening challenge which will be posted next week.
Ginger Anti-Dandruff Shampoo
Rating 5/5
I made the mistake of changing my shampoo not so long ago, whilst I thought it was the better option for my hair I was proven wrong. Within 2 weeks I once again had a bit of a dandruff problem, luckily for me being tall means not a lot of people see on top of my head, that is until I sit down. With the snowfall and temperature drop, it had come back with a vengeance. Never has an anti-dandruff shampoo worked better the Body Shop's Ginger Anti-Dandruff shampoo (the smell is beautiful, a little spicy but tropical). One wash and all my dandruff and dry scalp problems slid down the drain. Highly recommend to anyone with a dry scalp or dandruff situation.
Can't Speak App.
Rating: 3/5
I lost my voice for a little while in April (a week and a half to be exact). No one really noticed in the beginning because I'm a relatively quiet person, but after a couple of days, everyone realised I was being abnormally quiet. Whilst everyone found it hilarious and started making a joke about the fact I couldn't speak, (e.g. don't worry you don't have to say anything I know you agree with me, or don't speak if etc...) the typical puns. However I did find it really hard to communicate with people when I did actually need something, and I also had a lot of comebacks to people's joke and snarky comments that were just being wasted on my self whilst I look like a mad woman silently giggling to myself. Anyways the Can't Speak App (ios) came in handy, I simply typed whatever I wanted to say and it would say it, you can change the language and accent, the speed and depth of the voice. If you're not a fast typer this may not be for you, but it was a life saver, I had to use out of the house at the doctors and cafe but it gave everyone a good laugh.
The Greatest Showman
Rating: 5/5
After having a little upset over the fact Zoella was the only person in the UK to own a copy of The Greatest Showman (which is arguably one of the best film this year). I learned thanks to an Ant and Dec voiceover on an episode of BGT that the film is, in fact, available digitally from 29.04.2018, two weeks before the DVD release date on 14/05/2018. Whoop whoop. So Naturally I downloaded it onto my laptop the second I could and watched it, it's like a fairytale for adults, and it makes me feel warm and cosy but also motivated and strong everytime I watch it. If you've ever felt like a bit of an outsider or a tad weird (I always get told I am) then this movie is a brilliant way to make you feel like you can do anything and that you do belong.
Thanks for Reading
