Let's Talk About Doria Ragland and The Royal Wedding

(Every Wednesday I share a Blog Post about a Woman (or women), a Woman who inspires, creates and motivates. I'm all for anything that celebrates women, especially other women who do so. I always find myself talking about female role models and the awareness, challenge, campaign or company for or founded by women with my friends. So I've decided to lead by example, and dedicate Wednesday Blog Posts to Women and all their greatness. If there is someone you would Love to see in a Woman Wednesday Blog post, get in touch and let us know their story. Thank you)

This Woman Wednesday, Let's Talk About Doria Ragland at The Royal Wedding

If you didn't watch the Royal Wedding this weekend, I'm sure you probably heard about it. HRH Prince Harry married Meghan Markle at the Chapel in Windsor and became the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

The only person from Meghan's family to attend was her mother, Doria Ragland. Doria is a Social Worker and Yoga Instructor from sunny California. I don't know much about this lady nor do I want to intrude on her life. I have read articles in which Meghan has stated her love and pride for her mother, describing her a "free-spirited clinical therapist" and thanking her for taking her travelling to remote and impoverished destinations when she was young.

Doria had a whirlwind weekend, flying in from LA to help her daughter through the proceedings of her Wedding day. (I don't know if Doria had previously met any of the Royal Family aside from Harry before this weekend but I would assume so.) Meeting the Queen of England, being in front of a sea of paparazzi, and watching her daughter walk herself down the aisle and get married (in one of the most beautiful multicultural ceremonies I have seen). All done with elegance, grace, a smile and composure.
I know I would find any similar situation difficult as would many others and I just found myself in awe of Doria.

The gorgeous pistachio de la Renta dress and coat she wore suited her, I almost feel as though it was made for her (it may well have been). With minimal make-up and jewellery, and her hair in soft twists, Doria looked timeless, elegant, beautiful, simply stunning!
