The A/D Diaries
This series is following on from my original The Anxiety and Depression Diaries declaring my state of mental health to the world, (rather aptly on world mental health day) and the ongoing 100 Days Without Anxiety Challenge, I have decided to do an edit into the daily life of someone with Anxiety and Depression.
Why?
In all honesty, the feedback I have been getting from the 100 Days Without Anxiety is brilliant, it's been very supportive and encouraging. However, I have had a lot of people come up to me and say that they didn't realise Just how much it affected my life, my mood and those around me. I also receive texts saying that it's brilliant that I am getting better and seem super happy. It's great to receive these messages (thank you for sending them) but our social media life is often perceived through rose-tinted glasses and the reality isn't always as shiny. Whilst I have tried to keep it real 100% of the time my challenges usually focus on my achievements and progression. I haven't yet captured the daily up and downs, the fight to get out of bed or the constant lack of motivation and drive.
How?
I'm going to be writing these out in Diary and Q&A style formats, taking inspiration from my life and friends' who have experienced very similar situations. This edit could go belly up but I just thought it would give everyone a little more insight into the ups and downs of living with a mental illness. and answering any queries you may have. I want to talk about topics people are often thinking put too afraid to ask and help stop the stigma and labelling that comes with having a mental illness
So, If you have any questions about anxiety/depression or living with mental illness, don't hesitate to get in touch, you can either comment below get in touch via the contact page or find me on social media (@thebashstyle). I'd love to hear your stories too!
Let's get talking and help each other out.
