Let's Talk About Katie Sturino and 'The12ishStyle'
(Every Wednesday I share a Blog Post about a Woman (or women), a Woman who inspires, creates and motivates. I'm all for anything that celebrates women, especially other women who do so. I always find myself talking about female role models and the awareness, challenge, campaign or company for or founded by women with my friends. So I've decided to lead by example, and dedicate Wednesday Blog Posts to Women and all their greatness. This Wednesday, let's talk about The 12ish Style
Once again I'm a little late to the Party when it comes to discovering this Insta beauty (@the12ishstyle). Katie Sturino is not your usual; Insta-famous influencer and thank goodness for that. There's no skinny tea drinks or starving yourself goals on this profile and (please correct me If I'm wrong) quite frankly it's a breath of fresh air.
The witty, forward-thinking and stylish Instagram and blog dives into the world of body positivity. Katie recreates looks and styles based on celeb outfits designed for smaller frames. Katie's message seems pretty clear, it doesn't matter what size you are, you can still look fab and fashionable. The tagline is simple 'Size 12ish in a Size 2 world' ('Size 16ish in a size 6 World' for us Brits).
Here are some of my favourite #supersizethelook ...
Not only does Katie look fab, she's helping others feel fab about themselves and their body shape and size. Every post of hers I have seen has inspired me or/or made me smile. (If your Instagram feed doesn't make you smile, you're following the wrong people!) When you enter the world of The 12ish Style, you realise it doesn't matter if you're big or small, large or tall. You should aim to love and appreciate yourself and your body.
Once you've finished marvelling at her fabulous Instagram page, head on over to the the12ishstyle blog, where you are treated to more outfits, tips, advice, style and glamour. I love popping over to Katie's blog for a quick read and picking up a few tips, it's definitely worth a read.
Before I leave you to go fall in love with Katie Sturino and her brand, I also need to mention her cosmetics brand Megababe. That's right not only is Katie pathing the way for women of all sizes in the style stakes, she's also released a collection of 3 aluminium free and cruelty-free products: Rosy Pits Deodorant, Thigh Rescue Anti-Chafe Stick, and Bust Dust (Anti Boob-Sweat Spray). First, off How amazing do these products sound? Finally products on the market that celebrate and help women without telling us to modify ourselves, or pump us with harsh chemicals, whoop. Secondly, I've heard nothing but good reviews about these products and would love to get my hands on them. Sadly the range is currently only available in the U.S., Canada and Australia, which is a shame (I'm sure many of you also want to try these, hands up if like me you need the Bust Dust!).
