Try Something New #5
Beetroot Shot
My thoughts when I saw this were "ohh cool, I wonder what this tastes like". The answer? like cold tomato soup but sweeter. Imagine taking a can of Heinz and pour in a little sweetener. I'm not sure if cold soup is your thing but it's actually not that bad. If I had to drink it again I would although it wouldn't be my drink of choice, no matter the health benefits.
Sushi
I'm not a fish fan, I used to love a little poisson when I was little but as I got older and fish started to be served with heads and fins galore and I just couldn't stomach it. I also have had a bad reaction to lots of different fish which encouraged me to avoid it. So as we've just established, not a fish food fan, the thought of raw fish and the smell makes me feel ill. I've steered clear of Sushi for a long time now, but the other day for some reason I decided to try it again. No, it wasn't for the blog I was genuinely curious whether I would like it, I was in the supermarket at the time and picked up a box of veggie sushi rolls. You could argue this is not real sushi and that's fine, but I think it is (or at least It's the closest I will get to). I ate the whole box, the first roll I wasn't sure about the taste, the second an third I actually found myself enjoying the salty fishy flavour, on the last roll I realised I had eaten one too many and wasn't feeling too great. I think I'd nibble on sushi if it was around but it's definitely not my fave dish.
Yoga Class
I've posted about yoga before, all the yoga I do is mainly from the comfort of my own home watching videos from 'Yoga with Adriene'. The thought of doing yoga and bending over into indistinguishable shapes frightens me, not only for the fact that I dread the feeling of vulnerability but also the immense fear of farting in class in front of EVERYONE. Which is why I decided to do this a 100 Days Without Anxiety Challenge, (which will be up sometime in the future, so stay tuned for that one). After my first class, I found when everyone was doing Yoga I was only focused on myself, my breathing and movements, and realised this was also what everyone else was focusing on. The classes with Sunflower Yoga (@clare_sunfloweryoga) are very laid back and relaxing, you can ease into it and get help along the way. I absolutely loved the initial six-week course I booked in to and am looking forward to going back.
Have you tried anything new or stepped out of your comfort zone recently? Let me know.
