High Street Halloween Picks

Halloween is one of my favourite times of the year, I love the magic and mysteries more than the ghouls and gore, but my favourite part is dressing up. Ever since I was litle I've always been excited to transform into a magical creature, animal, a favourite character or pop culture reference. I always plan well in advance and go all out with my costume and makeup. The costumes available on the high street on online stores are incredible and some are really good quality, from full-on costumes to accessories that you can piece with items from your own everyday wardrobe.

Here are some of the costumes from the high street:

The pieces come as Separates which is great if you're a different size on top or bottom or wish to choose your own top/accessories. The star of the show here is definitely the mermaid tail skirt, I've never seen a skirt like it and think it's a steal at under £30. If you're into the whole mermaid/unicorn madness this is perfect for you, but even if you're not you have to admit the skirt looks amazing!

Transform into Maleficent with this costume once again by George at Asda, definitely worth having a browse through their costume collection.

Once Upon a Time, fans will know the blue fairy well, she's the head of the fairies, caring and kind but also knows a few wicked spells and how to keep people in check.

Add a twist onto the Wednesday Addams look with some fake blood oozing from the neckline, pair with a couple of braids and a sinister smile and you're good to go.

Clown Bodysuit £24.99
I wasn't sure whether to add this bodysuit to this list but I just kept being drawn to it and keep going back for another look. I think It looks great paired with some black leggings (as seen in the photo below), I've not seen anything like this anywhere else this year and think this would be a fab costume idea.

Leopard Print Catsuit  £14
If you've been loving the animal print trend this year why not go one step further and become a leopard for Halloween?
/Boohoo
A classic Halloween outfit, I always think a skeleton jumpsuit is an investment piece because it can be used year after year after year.

Don't be frightened by the PU body, It's all about those wings!! I was a heart-eyed face emoji when I saw these Purple wings, and could see myself spending the night twirling around, flapping my arms, and being over dramatic with every move. If like me you would shy away from a body suit on Halloween these wings could be paired with anything from a dress, to a pair of leggings and top. Just think about the dance moves you'd get away with.

Granted it's not actually a costume but it's two pieces you would be able to wear either together or separately for either fitness or loungewear purposes. I'm all about shopping wisely when it comes to Halloween outfits, and this ticks lots of boxes, it's comfy, you can reuse the outfit and wear the pieces separately for everyday wear. The Bride is always a hit at any Halloween Party.

If you're not in the mood for showing half your bottom in some glittery hot pants then these leggings are a great addition to any Harley Quin Outfit. If you're not a Harley Quin fan, or if everyone else you know is dressing up as Harley you could also use these for a Magician or Clown costume.

Alright you've got me here, this really is just a little black dress with flared sleeves, but it has sooo much potential. Also stocked in Petite and Small this dress is the perfect base for a multitude of costumes, don't believe me? Here are 5 costume ideas I just thought of off the top of my head: Witch, Morticia Addams, Vampire, a Bat, Maleficent, Don't underestimate the black dress.
