January Favourites

Hey Chums,

I've found it really hard to think of the things I've been loving in January. If truth be told, I've been a major rut all throughout January and have found it really difficult to get enthusiastic about anything, whether its just post-Christmas blues or my new medication (anti-anxieties) I just don't know. I've had trouble getting to sleep and can't seem to shake my sniffly cold, which means I can't even smell my go-to lush sleepy body lotion. I simply feel tired, numb and unmotivated. I'm sorry to bring this down to a somber level, January's grey enough let alone my ranting. I've decided to try and complete my Jan favourites, to help spark a little joy back into my January.

Co-op Very Irresistible flapjack Cookies

Rating:★★★☆☆
These cookies are Yummy! I struggle occasionally to find biscuits without any milk or caffeine in. I saw these on the shelf and thought I'd give them a go. I was not disappointed. The fruit to oat ratio was perfectly balanced. The coconut, oat and rasing filling gave them and moist but crumbly texture, they are so moreish I really had to restrain myself from finishing the whole packet in one go. (If you're assuming I'm stuffing my face with these as I'm typing this, you would be correct.)

Peanut Butter Hot Chocolate

Rating:★★★☆☆
Peanut Butter + Chocolate = yum. If you remember seeing this in my blog post "My First Time (January)" you would be correct. I wasn't completely sure I would love this combination as a hot drink but I am pleased to report that this is DELICIOUS! After taking a sip you feel as though you are swimming in a Reeces pieces pool of chocolate. I don't know how Whittard of Chelsea does it but they are pros at capturing the best flavoured hot chocolates ready for you to try.

The Brightside 2018 Diary

Rating:★★★★☆
If you're a returning reader, you will know how much I rave about my diary (and are probably sick of it!). A diary has been so helpful, doing exactly what it says on the tin. Now that I use diaries properly I cannot get enough. This one is cute and quirky, with little quips on certain days e.g. maximize horizontalness days, or start a Mexican wave day (both days were chosen at random). This fabulous Diary is small enough to carry around with me everywhere I go but big enough to house all my meetings, appointments, and gatherings. I'm now one of those people that actually checks her diary when saying "Let me just check my diary". I'm not sponsored by 'The Bright Side' in any way (although happily would be if you guys are reading), I just really love their stuff.

Friends, Netflix

Rating: ★★★★☆
Despite receiving some millennial back-lash online, Friends is still one of my favourite TV shows of all time. I can put on any of the 234 episodes on and laugh my way through it. I know the show doesn't meet the higher pc standards that we have today. However, I would just like to remind everyone to not lose their heads over a television program that ended in 2004. Surely some of the outdated comedy just shows how far society has already come, and I see that as a good thing.
This sitcom was just the thing I needed to laugh and smile in a rather somber January.

The Dare Response by Barry Mc Donagh

Rating:★★★★★
If you know me you've probably heard me say before that I love this book, or that this book has changed my life (true story). Whilst in my ridiculously long rut this January, I reread this fabulous book by Barry McDonagh. Barry gives us his take on anxiety, by breaking the complexity of the mental 'illness' down into categories of digestible and understandable proportions.

Hopefully, this blog post was not as dull as my January and you actually enjoyed it a little bit.
Thanks for Reading Chums!
XO
