Recap on 2018 Resolutions
At the start of 2018, I posted my New Years Goals, 10 Goals I had set myself to achieve by the end of the year. In April I posted a Resolutions Recap and realised I was on track to complete them all by the end of the year. I'm curious to see how much have I been able to achieve and if my resolutions taught me anything?
Continue Working On My Mental Health and Wellbeing ✔
I'm pleased to report that I have been working very hard on my mental health and well being this year. I'm at a good place in my recovery it's taken a little longer to reach this point that I had hoped and I still have a ways to go but I haven't given up this year. I've pulled myself out of every DIP I've had and improved on my communication and confidence. I'm excited to see what next year brings and to bring you on this journey with me.
Continue and Complete my 100 Days Without Anxiety Challenge ✔❌
I haven't completed the 100 Days Without Anxiety Challenges yet (I'm a little low on ideas, so please if you have any suggestions let me know in the comments or get in touch). Although I have completed over 50 of the challenges, that's over halfway, which in itself is a fantastic achievement for me. I'm super proud of myself for getting this far and would like to thank everyone for the support they have given me, I will continue posting the challenges this week and into the New Year.
Continue Blogging and Upload On a Regular Basis ✔❌
Just Click back onto the homepage of this blog and the evidence is there and in this post today. I have continued blogging, it's a great source of creative outlet and a way to journal my mental health journey. Thanks again to everyone for all the messages of encouragement and thanks I have had for my posts and being very open about my journey, they mean the world, and your feedback is always appreciated.
I haven't always uploaded on a regular basis this year I could post a full week of blog posts and the next week none at all, I'm still struggling with my health and mental health occasionally. I've realised I put way too much pressure on myself, especially after the success of some of my posts reached this year, I got too nervous to post and too anxious to even log on. Realising this has helped me to prioritise better, relax a little more, and stop worrying as much about what other people think or expect of me.
Do/Try Something New Every Month ✔
I may not have blogged about every new thing, but I have pushed myself out of my comfort zone a fair bit this year, trying new crafts, new foods and drinks, and even found a new hobby or two.I've found this experience rather fun, it's been rewarding, even if some of the things I tried were not for me, or didn't taste very nice, It's important to try new things. If you're stuck for a New Years Resolution I'd highly suggest you try this next year.
Drink More Water ❌
It's bad just how bad I am at drinking the recommended daily amount of water. they say 8-10 glasses a day is what you should be aiming for but the max I think I reach is about five. This improved a little over the summer, when the heatwave hit the UK but other than that, it's not gone too well. Does anyone have any tips on how to improve on this and increase my water intake?
Do Yoga Every Day ❌
This was a very ambitious Resolutions and I'm not surprised I didn't succeed at it, I didn't think I would when I set in and when I recapped in April. I did, however, attend a yoga class this year and thoroughly enjoyed it, I had to stop due to my health and IBS but now that's relatively under control I hope to attend again in the New Year.
Save Money and Keep a Budget ✔
Whoop, I felt like it was just going to be a sea of Red Ticks for the rest of this post, It's nice to see a little green tick. I have managed to be a lot better with my saving and spending this year. I've found that my impulse buying and "shopping Sprees" tend to happen when I'm in a DIP but I've tried my best to be good and only get the things I need plus a few luxuries. I've also Kept a budget but haven't always stuck to it, unfortunately, there have been a couple of unexpected but needed funds for an emergency or big event, I plan on factoring those types of things next year.
Keep in Touch with People ❌
I haven't been the greatest at keeping in touch this year and would like to apologise to anyone who feels a little neglected by me. I've done my best when I can but I've been a busy bee and under the weather and I could give every excuse under the sun but the truth is, I'm not great at keeping in touch, I've got better but still have a ways to go.
Allow Myself to Say No ✔
Apparently the year 2018 is the year I mastered the word no, I learned pretty early on that I could say no and did on multiple occasions. In fact, I think I went a bit "No" happy at one point and might even have to relearn the word yes. I finally managed to be a little selfish and put myself first instead of trying to please others, and I feel so much better for it.
Letting go of the things I don't need ✔
Well, this is another resolution I may have mastered, I've got so much better at not holding on to things that I simply don't need. What is the point of keeping something if someone else could use it more, or better or really love it? I still have a few more things dotted around that I could potentially give up. It's helped me to downsize and declutter my life which has, in turn, lifted a weight off my shoulders.
6/10 I'm really impressed with that result I did not think I would make it to six by the end of the year and would say that that's pretty good going. I'd love to know how your resolutions panned out this year? Did you keep them, break them, change them? Get in touch or comment below.
Thanks for Reading, Happy New Year,
